Greetings! My name is Michael Paul and as far as I know, I am the world's
only fully-functioning gamer-accountant.
I originally hail from Cleveland, Ohio but also spent many years living around Chicago. I currently live in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex (and have
for over 12 years now). I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with B.A.'s
in both Finance and Accounting, and currently work as a Financial Analyst with Verizon.
In regards to my gaming experience, I have been involved with role-playing games off and on for around 18 years starting with the old boxed sets. I
played AD&D regularly in high school for a few years and then hit a fairly long dry spell in college. Once I graduated and got my first job, I hit the
local gaming store and hooked up to a few groups, one playing Champions and the other Star Wars (in fact, in a roundabout way, I met my lovely wife, who
is not a gamer, through the latter group). That was seven years ago, and since then I have had the
opportunity to hang out with a lot of great fans of the hobby, and play several gaming systems (Vampire: The Masquerade, Fading
Suns, and Hunter: The Reckoning), but we always seem to come back to D&D.
Until the release of 3E I had pretty much lost all interest in fantasy gaming, but the new system has regenerated my interest in the genre and I am
happily kicking ass as Raethe, the Rogue from Ravens Bluff.
